Products and Services
Lodic AS develope and distribute state-of-the-art software products for loading and stability calculations - both Loading Computers for onboard installation and design/stability packages for office use. In addition we offer consulting services and analyses related to stability and loading / loading operations for vessels or semi-submersible rigs and other structures.
The software packages offered are:
SHIPSHAPE
An integrated ship design and hydrostatics/stability package for early-design studies, feasibility studies, concept evaluation, stability and loading condition calculations, etc. The SHIPSHAPE system is known for its user friendliness and speed, and packs a host of advanced options to cover almost all requirements imaginable within the field of stability. Also, the SHIPSHAPE system is 100% controlled by Lodic AS, meaning that we can develop / implement new functions, reports, additional documentation, new calculations etc. practically on the spot, which means that the system is the most flexible and versatile system around.
SHIPSHAPE is also the modelling tool for our ShipLoad and LODIC Loading Computer software. This means that all our SHIPSHAPE users have the added opportunity to offer our ShipLoad loading computer based on the SHIPSHAPE model used for the stability calculation of a vessel.
ShipLoad
ShipLoad is an advanced Windows-based Loading instrument for ships and ship-like vessels. ShipLoad comes in all possible configurations ranging from the very basic offline system with intact stability and control against Class strength limits, to the most advanced state-of-the-art installation available on the market today, including a.o. full online integration with the Ship Automation System to allow full control over Water Ballast and Cargo operations from the Loading Instrument. ShipLoad is a modular system where the client can choose freely from the available functions to match the needs of a vessel exactly without having to pay for a bundled system with lots of unnecessary functions.
One of our main competitive advantages is also our ability to prepare functions and special editions to our clients in a very short time. All the software and all the related functionality and competence is maintained in-house, allowing for the short development time for new additions and modules. Our specialty is to prepare functions tailor-made to the Client's design and requirements, adding further value to the ShipLoad system.
LODIC
LODIC is our Loading Computer package for rigs, floaters and non-shiplike structures. The program is Windows- based and covers the full range of versions and functions: table- or geometry based, intact and damage stability, skew load / torsional load control, online or offline, etc. LODIC can be run in dual mode, i.e. operations planning can be performed while the online monitoring and control functions are running in the background. We are also delivering LODIC as black-box solutions to automation system suppliers wanting to use their own front end.
LODIC is at the front end of the development with respect to loading computer functionality for rigs. The system has for instance been delivered with the MIMOSA anchoring and mooring analysis package from MARINTEK (marketed by DNV) fully integrated. This allows data from wave / wind / tension sensors/ etc. to be read directly by the system and used for stability analyses, line breakage analyses, winching advisory modules, position monitoring functions etc.
Services
Lodic AS offer services within the field of design, stability and loading, marine operations and general marine technology to both our software customers and other ‘drop-in' customers. This will cover projects such as speed vs. power estimates for feasibility studies, stability calculations for Class or Authority approval, design studies to optimize tank/hold configuration and watertight integrity, analyses of stability for heavy lift operations or subsea installation operations - to mention but a few.
We have also been helping out both some of our old and some new customers lately with projects and jobs that requires a more advanced use of our software - sometimes also requiring some tweaking on the functions inside of the systems. For jobs like this there are no-one better and more efficient. This of course in addition to continually expanding the functionality of our software by writing special software modules or additions useful to both us and our clients.
